In the child class SomeOtherClass, I’d like to access the constructor of the parent class. The problem is, that the compiler doesn’t allow me to do so. What would be the best way to solve this problem? Thanks.

By definition of the language, a child class doesn’t have access to the constructor of a parent class unless it’s stated explicitly in the child class.

The most simple way to deal with this would be to encapsulate the construction in the child class, and let the constructor of the parent class get the input from the child class.
